All domain segments are growing, and expired domain revenue continues to grow.

Tucows reported Q2 earnings this afternoon.

Overall, the company’s revenues increased 10% year-over-year to $98.4 million.

In the domains business, revenue increased 8% to $67.6 million, and gross profit expanded 14% to $21.6 million. Adjusted EBITDA increased 12% to $12.5 million.

Both the wholesale and retail segments of Tucows’ domain business grew.

Expired domain sales continued to lift the domain business, with the company’s Value-Added Services segment growing 32% year-over-year to $5.3 million in the quarter. This echoes GoDaddy’s strong quarter in the aftermarket, where Tucows sells most of its expired domains.

Total domains under management, inclusive of domains under other companies’ registrar accreditations that are managed on Tucows platforms, continued to decline. They are down about 500,000 domains to 24 million year-to-date. Tucows stated the drop is mainly explained by one reseller moving some of its domains in-house.
