Congolese organization takes home top prize of $50,000.

Public Interest Registry (PIR) held the awards ceremony for its 2025 .Org Impact Awards last night in Washington, D.C.

With actor and musician Common at the helm, the organization that manages the .org domain announced $180,000 in donations.

PIR named nonprofit Fonds pour les Femmes Congolaises (The Fund for Congolese Women) the winner of the .ORG of the Year award. The organization works to empower women within the Democratic Republic of Congo by advancing initiatives to eliminate gender-based sexual violence, provide empowerment programs for women and girls, educate women about HIV/AIDS and reproductive health, and advocate for environmental justice and equitable access to resources and land.

The organization, which also won the category for Community Building, received a $50,000 donation.

A complete list of winners is available here.

In the seven years since the .Org Impact Awards started, PIR has donated $865,000 to winners.
