Chart showing that premium domain registrations in H1 2025 were up 50% to 2,857.

Premium .tech registrations up 50% in first six months of 2025.

Top level domain operator Radix has released data (pdf) on its premium domain sales for the first half of the year.

Customers registered 2,857 premium domains across its portfolio in H1, a 50% increase compared to the same period last year.

Radix no longer discloses exact registration and renewal revenue for premiums, but for context, it estimated that customers spent over $5 million on premium registrations in H1 2024.

Radix sells premiums on a “high-high” model, in which domains carry premium pricing not just for the initial registration but also for each renewal.

Among its extensions, .tech stood out with a 70% year-over-year jump to 600 premium registrations, including 32 names priced at $5,000 or more. .Fun topped the charts with 666 premium registrations.

.Online, .store, and .space also ranked among the top five extensions for new premium registrations.

Unsurprisingly, names including “agent” were especially popular this year.
