Titan inks deal to offer email services to GoDaddy customers

Trial with GoDaddy lifted email revenue 76% and improved NPS 65%.

Email company Titan has signed a deal with GoDaddy (NASDAQ: GDDY) that will put Titan’s email platform in front of GoDaddy customers in emerging markets, including India and Brazil.

Titan is built for the micro-SMB segment, which includes many one- and two-person companies, but it can scale to larger businesses. The company positions itself against Google and Microsoft by focusing on the specific needs of very small businesses for email, rather than what larger organizations prioritize.

These businesses tend to do more outbound communications and marketing with email. Titan offers features such as a simple email marketing tool, template creation, read receipts, invoicing, and other utilities that help small businesses communicate with customers.

Serial entrepreneur Bhavin Turakhia founded Titan. He and his brother, Divyank, co-founded Directi and later sold its registry, hosting platform, and reseller business to what is now Newfold Digital.

That experience shaped Titan’s business approach. Titan works only through resellers, partnering with registrars, hosting companies, and other firms that want to bundle email with their own products.

The GoDaddy agreement follows a four-month trial in which Titan says it lifted overall email revenue by 76% through better adoption, including higher conversions from trials. Titan also reported a 65% improvement in NPS for email satisfaction during the test.

There are currently 2.3 million active mailboxes on Titan, which is double the number two years ago. Titan hopes to grow that to 10 million within three years.

Current Titan partners include Newfold Digital, GMO, Team Internet, and Automattic. Automattic, which operates WordPress.com, invested $30 million for a 10% stake in Titan in 2021.
