Atom simplifies policy for listing domains on other marketplaces

You can now list domains on other marketplaces as long as you price them at least 10% higher.

Domain marketplace Atom has loosened and simplified its policy for listing domains on other marketplaces.

The company invests heavily in marketing and attracting buyers to its listings, so it doesn’t want buyers to discover a domain on its platform and buy it elsewhere.

Its new policy allows you to list the domain on any platform that sells the domain through registrars, provided it is priced at least 10% higher than the price on Atom. The thinking is that this extra cost will deter some buyers from purchasing the domain through a registrar.

Atom had already allowed this to some degree with specific marketplaces, but the new policy is simpler to understand. It would also apply to listings on Spaceship’s SellerHub, which has attracted many sellers in recent weeks.

Domains still need to point to Atom’s nameservers.

Of course, pricing is something you need to keep on top of: if you increase your prices at Atom, you need to update them at other marketplaces. You should also be mindful of lease-to-own settings.

Atom is continuing its Commission Match Guarantee, which compensates you with up to $300 if your domain sells on Afternic while it’s listed on Atom’s Premium marketplace. There are a few caveats, though.
