The company sold arch.com during the last quarter.
Paging company Spok Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SPOK) sold a domain name last quarter for a gain of $701,000, the company revealed in its latest quarterly filing with the SEC.
While the company did not disclose the domain name, it is clearly arch.com, a domain that has a long history with the company.
In 2004, Arch Wireless and Metrocall Holdings merged to form USA Mobility. Ten years later, the company changed its name to Spok.
The company forwarded arch.com to its website for many years. But in April this year, the domain status changed to pending transfer. It moved from Network Solutions, where Spok keeps its domains, to Squarespace Domains.
The buyer is Arch, a company that helps alternative investment companies aggregate data in a standardized format for investors and advisors.
It was a significant upgrade for the company, and also an important one: Arch uses the domain name arch.co. It now forwards arch.com to arch.co.
Arch has raised over $25 million in funding, so it was time for it to pick up the .com domain matching its brand.
